Are you a natural helper, eager to have a positive impact on your community?
Volunteer victim advocates offer crucial support and comfort to victims of violent and sexual crimes. As part of our volunteer team, you will have the opportunity to:
-Provide hope to victims of violent crime
-Gain valuable training
-Build upon your experiences
-Strengthen your communication and people skillsBest of all, you will be able to select the shifts yo work. We understand and value our volunteers time and know you lead busy lives. Volunteers are able to select days and times that work best for their schedules.
“How much time will I commit to volunteering?”
Volunteers will choose 2-4 shifts per month based on their schedule and availability. The Victim Center operates a free and confidential 24-hour crisis hotline. The Victim Center staff cover the hotline during normal business hours, generally Monday-Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Volunteer victim advocates cover the remaining hours. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays when The Victim Center is not open.No Records Found
