Bass Pro Shops held a stream team cleanup this morning, along with Fassnight Creek Farms’ Farmer Dan.
The Fassnight Creek Farm thanked the volunteers for spending their morning working to keep the creek clean. Organizers say it’s important for conservation here and for the environments downstream.
“The importance of us picking up trash is huge, because it prevents any sort of pollution throughout the city water, and other rivers and streams, and eventually the ocean,” said Jacob Madison, assistant curator at Wonders of Wildlife.
The Springfield Art Museum and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board also host monthly cleanups along the creek.
The next cleanup is scheduled for Sept. 13.
