As a Board member for United Community Change, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion while empowering underserved and marginalized communities, particularly African Americans and of African diaspora descent. Your role will be to provide guidance, support, and oversight to ensure that our organization is fulfilling its purpose and serving its constituents effectively.
One of your primary responsibilities as a Board member will be to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with our mission and vision. You will work collaboratively with other Board members and staff to establish organizational goals, policies, and procedures that reflect our commitment to social justice and community empowerment.
Another important aspect of your role will be to help ensure that our organization is financially sound and sustainable. You will review and approve budgets, monitor financial performance, and work with staff to secure funding and resources that enable us to carry out our programs and initiatives.
As a member of our Board, you will also serve as an ambassador for our organization, representing us to the broader community and helping to build partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, funders, and stakeholders. You will use your expertise and networks to help us raise our profile, increase our impact, and advance our mission.
