Role Description:
As a Volunteer RAMPS (Renovations and Modifications Projects) Builder , you will play a pivotal role in improving accessibility and safety for individuals with disabilities who have barriers to safely exiting their homes and accessing the community. Your primary responsibility will involve assisting in the construction of ramps that provide essential access to and from their homes. These ramps ensure that individuals with disabilities can navigate their living spaces safely and independently. By participating in ramp-building projects, you will directly contribute to enhancing the quality of life and autonomy of low-income individuals with disabilities. No previous experience with tools required.Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with empower: abilities staff and volunteers to facilitate ramp construction.
– Assist in setting up project sites, including measuring, leveling, and preparing materials.
– Participate in various aspects of the construction process under the guidance of experienced team members. No construction skills or tools required!
– Engage in tasks such as assembling, attaching handrails, and securing ramp components.
– Prioritize safety by adhering to established guidelines and protocols throughout the construction process.
– Interact respectfully and empathetically with fellow volunteers, beneficiaries, and project managers.
– Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment during and after projects.
– Attend training sessions and volunteer meetings to enhance your skills and understanding.Qualifications:

– Physical ability to participate in construction tasks, such as carrying materials and assisting with assembly.
– Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced team members.

This is a part-time volunteer position that typically involves participation in scheduled ramp-building projects. The time commitment may vary based on the complexity of the project and empower: abilities’ construction schedule. Projects could range from a single day to several days, depending on the scope of work. Projects may be scheduled for weekdays or weekends.Benefits:
