Organization Category: Health and Medicine
CMH Hospice provides support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible at home, or in a homelike setting, with family and friends. The program also provides support to the family after a death of their loved one through a bereavement program.
Volunteers are frequently needed just to stay with a patient for a short period while the family is out. They can also help with running errands, providing emotional support throughout the illness and offering bereavement support. Volunteers can also help with fundraising and office work.
CMH Hospice serves individuals living in Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Polk, Hickory, northern Greene and southern St. Clair Counties. For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact Loretta Hascall at 417-326-3585 or [email protected].
