The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is an independent, 501(c)3 non-profit organization licensed by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. As one of the largest No Kill shelters in Southwest Missouri, the Humane Society welcomes all cats and dogs through its doors, and commits all available resources to not only help them find their forever home, but heal the wounds both visible and unseen. Funding for the organization comes from private donations. We do not receive any funding from the Humane Society of the United States, Humane Society of Missouri, SPCA, or any government agencies.

Requirements & Commitment: We ask for a regular, weekly commitment of at least 2 hours.We’re looking for volunteers to assist our intake office with answering email inquiries, inputting voicemails into a spreadsheet, and returning phone calls. Our intake office is our greatest, most visible community resource- we need your help to keep up with the ever increasing demand! No experience is necessary- we’ll show you the ropes!
