SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Starting at 6 a.m. McDonald’s across the Ozarks will sell a limited-edition “Chiefs Kingdom” flags for Red Friday.

The Springfield Central football team and the fellowship of Christian Athletes at Central will help out with the fundraiser.

They’ll be at the McDonald’s on National Avenue south of St. Louis Street.

Proceeds from the flags will go to support the two Ronald McDonald houses in Springfield.

Even though the football players have an away game tonight against Glendale they wanted to get up early to give back to the community.

“We just want to give our athletes and students the experience of being in the community taking part in the community understanding that they have outside of the field is a greater part,” Sean Nevills, Central High School Head Football Coach, said.

You can get one of the flags for a minimum of five dollars. Again, there’s a limited supply of the flags.

The Chiefs kick off the season Sunday afternoon against the Chargers in Los Angeles.
