Rockaway Beach, MO. — A veteran’s home damaged by spring storms is being repaired through the generosity of others.

KY3/KSPR News reported about Andre Anderson’s home in Rockaway Beach in May. Shortly after the report, community members began to step up to help.

Plumblee Construction is donating some of the materials and the labor, as crews install a brand new roof and guttering. Materials were also donated by Arrowhead Building Supply, Inc of Hollister, Mo. Other area organizations and individuals also donated.

Anderson explained that during a storm, his entire roof was leaking and he didn’t have the money to replace it.

Luis Hardesty is the lead crew member on the project on Anderson’s home. He says Plumblee wanted to give back to someone who gave to his country.

“Any chance we can [get], you know, just to help out in the community we always do, especially veterans. You know, they helped us out, so we have to bring it back to them,” Hardesty said.

The crew will complete the roof this week and come back to finish the guttering.

Anderson is extremely grateful for the generosity of the community.
