My wife is a CASA volunteer. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers change that. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers support the child until they are placed in a safe, permanent home. While others may come and go, CASA volunteers provide that one constant that children need in order to thrive. Are you ready to stand up for a child who needs you?
CASA of Southwest Missouri is an incredible organization with an incredible goal of having an Advocate appointed to every child in foster care in Greene and Christian counties.
For many years, I’ve held CASA in high esteem, drawn to its dedication to improving the lives of children in foster care. I’m not only blessed to join the team as Communications Coordinator, but also eagerly training to become a volunteer. The passion of the people and the mission of CASA resonate deeply with me. I’m inspired by the tangible difference this organization makes in the lives of vulnerable children.
The mission of improving the lives of abused and neglected foster children is one that I hold near and dear to my heart. Due to that, in January I began an internship at CASA and have learned so much in my short time here already. I also am in the process of becoming a CASA myself! I am inspired by the employees and volunteers and so blessed that I get to learn from all of them!
